Sika® Adhesives: The Sika® Acoubond system is the ultimate installation system to reduce through-floor noise to lower floors. SikaBond® Full Spread Adhesives have high levels of elasticity to control the movement of engineered wood flooring up to 16" wide and solid wood flooring up to 3/4" thick and 8" wide.

We believe that combining engineered or specially dried solid flooring with modern adhesives results in the best possible installation. We recommend Sika® brand polyurethane adhesives. Sika® wood floor bonding products are among the industry leaders in providing the greatest amount of elasticity when the adhesives are cured. Permanent elasticity is the characteristic that reduces stress on the bond between the adhesive, the wood flooring and the subfloor. Elasticity allows the wood to expand and contract during seasonal humidity changes, while, at the same time, it controls the amount of expansion and contraction.
Our primary recommendation for installation is the Sika® AcouBond system. The AcouBond system is a combination of SikaBond® T53 adhesive and a 1/8” thick acoustic mat. The system is designed to reduce in-room and through-floor noise. The elastic adhesive and mat remain flexible to produce more walk comfort. The AcouBond system combines the best features of the Sika® elastic polyurethane adhesive with a noise attenuation mat producing, what we feel, is the optimal installation.
Sika® AcouBond System and SikaBond® Full Spread Adhesives can be used in conjunction with Sika® Primer MB, a two-component epoxy primer/sealer that acts as a moisture retardant and surface stabilizer.
