Nail Down Installation: With this method each individual plank is firmly fixed in place by nails, screws or staples.
Advantages:
- Traditional method that most professional installers are familiar with
- Allows for large dimensions to be installed without seams
Disadvantages:
- Nails transmit noise to lower rooms
- Needs floor joists or plywood subfloor
- Finish on pre-finished planks could be damaged during installation
